PACT: Police Associate Citizens Team

Make a Positive Impact on the City of Sonora!

The City of Sonora Police Department is looking for motivated and community-minded volunteers to join the Police and Community Team (PACT) Volunteer Program. Volunteers donate a minimum of four hours per week and play an important role in supporting public safety and departmental operations.

Through Citizen Patrol and a variety of other assignments, PACT volunteers assist sworn officers by performing duties that help maximize patrol resources and improve service to the community. Volunteers may also support the Records Unit, Investigations Division, Crime Prevention programs, and other department functions.

Assignments are based on each volunteer’s unique skills, interests, and abilities, providing a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the City of Sonora.

Fire Department

City of Sonora Fire Department Volunteer & Intern Firefighter Program

Serve Your Community. Gain Valuable Experience. Make a Difference.

The City of Sonora Fire Department is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our Volunteer and Intern Firefighter Program. This is an excellent opportunity to serve the community, develop emergency response skills, and gain valuable experience in the fire service.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum age of eighteen (18) years
  • Valid California Class C Driver’s License
  • Current Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification (must be validated by Tuolumne County EMS)
  • Current CPR/AED Certification

Preferred:

  • Graduation from a recognized Firefighter Academy

Interested candidates should complete and submit a City of Sonora employment application along with a current resume to City Hall.
