NOTICE OF BID OPPORTUNITY
RECONSTRUCT TWO (2) CITY OF SONORA PUBLIC PARKING LOTS
AT STEWART AND LYONS & STEWART AND CHURCH
Request for Proposals – City of Sonora
The City of Sonora is seeking bids from qualified contractors to re-construct two (2) existing public parking lots in Sonora, CA 95370. Bids will be received at City Hall located at 94 Washington Street, Sonora, California, 95370, until 11:00 AM on AUGUST 28, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read at said address. The City of Sonora reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bids.
The City of Sonora owns two (2) parking lots located along Stewart Street that need reconstruction and associated improvements.
Parking Lot #1 – Stewart Street and Church Street:
- 12 standard parking stalls, 2 compact parking stalls, and 1 ADA compliant parking stall (15 total)
- Re-grading and reconstruction of the parking lot
- Sidewalk around the perimeter of the parking lot
- Church Street crossing improvements with ADA accessible curb ramps
- Reconstruction of adjacent Church Street
- Pedestrian handrailing
- Removal of abandoned structure
- Planter box for future landscaping
- Lowering height of masonry block wall
- Bid alterative: Solar Street lighting
Parking Lot #2 – Stewart Street and Church Street:
- 44 standard parking stalls, 2 compact parking stalls, and 2 ADA compliant parking stalls (48 total)
- Minor re-grading and reconstruction of parking lot
- Reconstruction of Bradford Street
- New at-grade sidewalk along Bradford Street
- Bradford Street crossing improvements with ADA accessible curb ramps
The estimated cost of this project is $1.14M. The project is anticipated to be completed within 40 Working Days. The DBE Contract goal is 0 percent.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held on August 17, 2026, at 11:00 am at the Stewart and Lyons Street parking lot, Sonora CA, 95370.
