The City intends to adopt an Initial Study (IS)-Negative Declaration (ND) addressing environmental concerns covering both the Housing Element and Safety Element. The City opened a 30 day public comment period on July 11, 2025 .

Housing and Safety Element- NOI
The Safety and Housing Elements will be formally presented to the City of Sonora Planning Commission at their August 25, 2025 meeting. The meeting will be held at City Hall at 5:30 pm. The meetings are open to the public.

The City of Sonora Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, April 27, 2026 at City Hall, 5:30pm in City Council Chambers (94 N. Washington St) to consider recommending the updated Safety Element to the City Council for adoption.
